My name is Amanda Walker, “AWalk”, and I teach people how to love food, fuel their body sustainably and look and feel good doing it!

My clients come to me after years of yo-yo dieting, binge eating and plain old “life” looking for a sustainable way of eating. The one where they can eat a nutrient dense diet and still enjoy something they love every.single.day. Teaching people how to eat a balanced daily diet that is sustainable for their life is my passion. I thrive from helping people reach their fitness goals by providing them with realistic strategies to make it happen. Let’s be honest—eating a salad at every meal just isn’t sustainable.  Chocolate exists in this world and it’s meant to be enjoyed…at the right time.

I have been working in the fitness and coaching industry for over 15 years. I have coached youth sports, group fitness classes, Crossfit and have guided hundreds of people towards their fitness goals. I graduated with a B.S. in Life Science (with an emphasis in physiology) and then went on to receive an M.E.d in secondary education. I am a Certified Crossfit, Crossfit Kids and Crossfit Endurance instructor and also a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. I am a science GEEK and have been trained in how to deliver it effectively too. I have a clear passion for teaching people (and kids) about living a healthy lifestyle.

Even more important is my life is CRAZY! I am a wife, a mom, a fitness coach, a nutrition coach and still have to plan dinners (and breakfast and lunch too), play cars and Barbies, tuck my kiddos in at night and shuttle them to school and all of their activities. My life is busy—just like yours. I am here to tell you that you can find a sustainable way of loving food in the perfect amounts. I am a mom of 2 and look and feel better than I did when I was 19. I know it is possible for you too.

I married the love of my life (literally since the 8th grade) and we had beautiful babies. I gained 60 lbs in my first pregnancy and lost myself, my mojo. I had a Brownie Batter Blizzard from Dairy Queen literally every other day during my first pregnancy  (I think I alone kept them in business).  I looked in the mirror after 2 kids and literally cried. I was determined to look and feel better than I ever had!

I’ve been through the spectrum of fad diets and food lifestyles. I know that food is amazing. Food is powerful. It is at the core of our survival. It is meant to be enjoyed and not guilted over. With a whole food centered simple approach, I am here to show you and guide you to the understanding that you CAN have your cake and eat it too (literally) while still living a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable. Helping people to change their food mindset to seeing FOOD as FUEL is the greatest gift I hope to give.

A few fun facts about me (because I am sure you were curious:)

  1. I have 2 awesome kids who are 6 and 4.
  2. I have never seen any “Star Wars” Movies and people tell me it is a crime.
  3. I go to bed dreaming about my morning cup of Joe. Worst is…I drink decaf??
  4. My second toe is way longer than my big toe and my husband is always using it as a conversation starter.
  5. I am known to embarrass my kids with impromptu dance parties ( I know they will hate it when they are in high school).
  6. I am obsessed with 90s R&B…Bell Biv Devoe, TLC…seriously the best era of music!
  7. Netflix is my nightly escape.  I love Empire, Scandal and secretly obsess over reality TV too!
  8. I can make the most amazing dolphin noise (My kids love it).
  9. I am a second generation immigrant from Belgium.
  10. I am a 34 year old Mom that has more confidence about herself than ever in life.  I am evidence that no matter how busy your life is, how old you are, or what your background is–you can look and feel better than you ever have!
